with the material.
|
| Step 2 |

She takes the child to the shelf, shows
him the material and names
it

|
| Step

She then invites the child to choose a place to work – shows
him how to hold the material and carry the material to the chosen
place, e.g. a table. |
|
Step 4
|
-- |
The
teacher sits next to the child, wherever the child has the fullest
view, taking into consideration the teacher herself and the child
being right or left-handed. |
| Step
5 |
-- |
She places the material in front of the child and demonstrates
the exercise. |
| Step 6 |
-- |
She then
invites the child to carry out the activity. |
| Step
7 |
-- |
Having completed the activity, the teacher asks the child
if he would like to repeat the exercise. If not, she explains
to the child that he can take the material
from the shelf at any time he likes and may work with it on
his own. The teacher shows the child how to put the material
back and explains that it is always kept in the same place and
should be put back for someone else to use. |
|
Note : The teacher must be firm about work being completed
and returned to the shelf. The children will soon get into
the habit and will get great satisfaction from the activities
they do.
